At enerBLD, we specialize in residential energy efficiency, primarily for those working on new construction homes and apartments. We provide quality assurance as required by RESNET, can assist with cost-optimizing energy efficiency measures, and provide Manual J, S, and D services.
Design and Optimization
Energy efficiency and comfort are often not topics during the design process. Our tailored solutions enhance comfort while reducing energy costs and providing options to reduce construction costs in the process.
Quality Assurance
In the US, the Home Energy Rating System (HERS) is governed by RESNET. RESNET has implemented a multi-tier review process that requires that a percentage of homes are reviewed in the field and/or on paper throughout the year. enerBLD staff has over 15 years of experience with this process, providing thorough reviews and mentoring.
File Quality Assurance
We can provide the energy model and file review for Raters using Ekotrope software.
Field Quality Assurance
Field QA is provided remotely to reduce travel costs. Raters will need to engage someone local for the required in-person field QA.
Mentoring
While the quality assurance process helps ensure consistency across the marketplace, it also provides an invaluable opportunity to learn and grow as a Rater.
Residential HVAC Design
For new homes, enerBLD can construct a model based on plans and specs to assess the specific heating and cooling needs for the home, room by room. This allows the proper sized equipment to be selected and provides guidance on how much airflow is needed in each room to maintain optimal comfort.
